Access Routes
The access to the District of Haţeg – Retezat is easy because of the many transport routes transiting the area. Thus, the access to this ecotourist destination is possible by train, bus or personal vehicle, while the air links are provided by the airports of Sibiu and Timişoara, which are the nearest.

ACCESS BY CAR  
The access to the area is provided by the European route E79 Târgu Jiu – Petroşani – Haţeg – Simeria (Deva) and national route DN 68 Caransebeş – Haţeg; then, the county and communal roads will provide the access to the destination.

ACCESS BY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION  
By train: transportation by train is relatively easy thanks to the railway line that crosses the area from north to south. This railway route makes the connection between Simeria – Subcetate – Petroşani, and the most important station in the area is Subcetate, being the only station where InterRegio trains stop. Regio trains serve all the other railway stations: Ohaba de sub Piatră, Pui, etc.
